USLAW NETWORK Foundation announces 2024 scholarship recipients
POSTED JUNE 11, 2024
USLAW NETWORK Foundation proudly announces 12 recipients of the 2024 USLAW NETWORK Foundation Law School Diversity Scholarship program. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding law school students from ABA-accredited law schools across the country. Each recipient receives $5,000 towards their law school tuition as well as an invitation to the Fall 2024 USLAW NETWORK Client Conference scheduled for Sept. 26-28, 2024, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The scholarship program was launched in 2022 as part of the USLAW NETWORK Foundation’s commitment to helping eligible law students who are in need of financial assistance achieve their academic and professional dreams. Each recipient was selected – among 170 applicants – based on academic achievements, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, or social justice in their communities or within their academic career.
“On behalf of the USLAW NETWORK Foundation, we are proud to recognize the accomplishments of these 12 talented law students and support them with the 2024 Foundation scholarship awards,” said Oscar J. Cabanas, Chair of the USLAW NETWORK Foundation Board of Directors, a shareholder in Wicker Smith’s Miami office and one of the firm’s four managing partners. “We are grateful to collaborate with our Foundation Partners Program on these scholarships that provide much-needed financial support for law students in need who have shown both academic and social distinction among their peers.”
The USLAW NETWORK Diversity Advisory Committee also helps facilitate the USLAW NETWORK Law School Diversity Scholarship process.
“Our USLAW NETWORK Foundation Law School Diversity Scholarship program supports today’s law school students who are forging a path towards academic and legal pursuits, while also promoting community service and social justice within their respective communities,” said Noble F. Allen, Chair of the USLAW NETWORK Diversity Advisory Committee, partner at Hinckley Allen and Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. “We are proud to support these exceptional students with financial assistance and networking opportunities that will help them with their academic dreams and future career paths.”
The scholarship program is supported by the USLAW NETWORK Foundation Partners Program, which provides opportunities for individuals, corporations, and foundations to partner with the USLAW NETWORK Foundation to name a scholarship. By showing their dedication, they have the choice to distribute the funds in a way that benefits all students, or they can outline specific requirements and preferences for individuals who represent their organization’s values and goals.
