Ortiz graduated with his J.D. in 1988, with honors, from the University of Wyoming School of Law. he earned his B.A. from the University of Wyoming in 1985.
Mr. Ortiz has been a shareholder in the firm of Williams, Porter, Day, & Neville, PC since 1992. He has a trial practice specializing in professional liability claims, defense of transportation carriers, oil and gas related litigation, and labor and employment law with large energy-related employers. He has tried more than 70 jury trials to verdict and more than 150 arbitrations and contested case hearings.
Mr. Ortiz is an inducted member of International Academy of Trial Lawyers ( IATL), American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is a member of Defense Research Institute, (DRI), USLAW, The Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wyoming State Bar Association. He formerly served and was chair of the Wyoming Judicial Ethics Commission. He enjoys snowmobiling, golf, and enjoys traveling with his family.
