John P. Lacey, a former federal prosecutor and former president of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, concentrates his practice in complex federal and state litigation matters, internal and external corporate investigations, the defense of individuals in governmental investigations, and white collar criminal defense. Admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, Mr. Lacey has made a career of handling and investigating tough cases. As part of his practice, he conducts investigations and defends corporations and individuals in high-profile civil, criminal and administrative matters at the state and federal levels, including representing and advising multi-national and domestic corporations in connection with civil, criminal and administrative matters. He has handled investigations across the globe, including Europe, Asia and South America, and advises clients on compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other Anti-Corruption laws. His work often involves the handling of highly sensitive information and corporate investigations where complete discretion is required. He regularly advises corporate boards on internal corporate investigations, defense of federal and state criminal and administrative investigations, and other business crisis situations where crisis management is required. Mr. Lacey’s clients include small, medium and multi-national corporations and law firms, corporate executives, universities, school systems, politicians and political organizations, professional athletes, religious organizations, attorneys and accountants. His practice ranges from claims of employee misconduct to highly complex environmental and financial matters, health care fraud, insider trading, cyber crimes, Anti-Kickback issues and claims under the FCPA, False Claims Act and RICO. In his former role as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Lacey oversaw and handled many dozens of prosecutions and argued more than 20 successful appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
