Carlos “Charlie” Garcia is a partner in Wicker Smith’s Fort Lauderdale office where he devotes his practice to complex civil litigation, class action defense, employment law, and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on federal court practice.
In 2004, Mr. Garcia earned a double major in English and Economics with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Miami. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Mr. Garcia spent several years teaching English in the Miami-Dade County public school system and overseas. He then went on to earn a Juris Doctor in 2012 from Florida International University, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. While in law school, Mr. Garcia was an active Trial Team and Board of Advocates member, and was also a Dean’s Merit Scholar. Prior to joining Wicker Smith in 2014, Mr. Garcia worked as a law clerk alongside the Honorable Cecilia M. Altonaga at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Garcia was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012 and is an active member of the Florida Bar and Federal Bar Association. He was also appointed as a member of the Southern District of Florida’s Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Court-Annexed Mediation in August 2020.
