Option 1 - Biltmore House Tour & Private Wine Tasting

SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2024 | 12:15 P.M. – 4:45 P.M. | America’s largest home is the centerpiece of Biltmore Estate. George Vanderbilt, the youngest son of an American family famous for its wealth, opened his country retreat in 1895. His guests marveled at the magnificent residence containing 34 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces covering four acres of floor space. Vanderbilt traveled the world to furnish his home: art by Renoir, Whistler, and Sargent; exquisite 16th-century tapestries; and 24,000 books in seven languages. The excursion includes a self-paced, self-guided audio tour of the restored rooms of Biltmore House, America’s largest privately owned residence and self-guided tour of Acres of Biltmore Gardens.  This will be followed by a wine tasting at the Biltmore Estate Winery.

Half of the group will proceed with the tour and then wine tasting. The other half will do wine tasting first followed by the tour.

Option 2 - Whitewater Rafting

SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2024 | 1:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. | Whitewater Rafting is a favorite activity for those visiting the Western North Carolina Mountains. No other sport combines teamwork, fun and outdoor adventure like a trip down the river. The French Broad River is a scenic and exhilarating adventure! You will enjoy an exciting and challenging half-day raft trip through the Class I to III rapids of the French Broad River.

  • Includes round trip transportation, guided rafting tour with gear and boxed lunch with drinks.
  • What to Bring: Sunscreen, sunglasses and sun visor or cap.
  • Recommended Attire: Comfortable quick dry clothing and shoes. Please have dry clothing for the return trip.

Option 3 - Asheville Brewery Tour

SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2024 | 1:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. | This fun and informative tour will take you through one Asheville Microbrewery and one Distillery, where you will be provided with brew-master access, insight into the beer brewing process, tastings of many local craft brews and seasonal varieties on tap, and an educated introduction to the diverse brewing scene of Asheville and its history. Not only will participants sample some of Asheville’s greatest craft beers, they will also get to immerse themselves in the eclectic ambiance that defines the local beer scene of Asheville. Each of the microbreweries on this tour have their own distinct style in brewing as well as in its incredibly varied atmosphere.

  • Includes round trip transportation, all food and drinks, and boxed lunch.
  • Recommended Attire: Casual, comfortable walking shoes.
