Joseph Murphy is a seasoned attorney with a 22-year journey in the legal arena, specializing in estate and business planning, contract law, litigation management, and general counsel services. Armed with a background in finance and a Master of Laws in Taxation, he practices in a broad arena of different matters involving money. Joe’s competitive nature helps orchestrate favorable outcomes in litigation.
Before entering private practice, Joe spent five years as General Counsel for a communications company, enhancing his broad spectrum of financial and legal knowledge. In addition to being an attorney, Joe spent time as a wealth manager designing and implementing strategies for high-net-worth clients.
Joe is from Spokane, Washington, where he attended Gonzaga Prep High School and later graduated from Gonzaga University. After graduating, Joe moved to Dublin, Ireland, for work. He later graduated from the University of Denver School of Law, completing his Juris Doctorate. Later, while working as General Counsel, he earned his LLM in taxation from the University of Washington.
Beyond the courtroom, his commitment to social issues is evident as the founder of The Roothaan Scholarship Fund at Gonzaga University, with an endowment of over $350,000. He spent time as a Providence Mount St. Vincent board member and co-founder of The Pink Shamrock Foundation, distributing $80,000 last year to support impoverished women. Every Christmas, Joe and his spouse plan and hold an event at their home to collect teddy bears for homeless children. This last Christmas, they collected over 300 teddy bears for the Forgotten Children’s Fund.
