James R. Moore, Jr.

Jim Moore is a senior partner and original member of Copeland, Cook, Taylor & Bush, P.A.. Since 1981, he has defended liability claims arising out of commercial transportation, as well as transportation-related insurance coverage issues. Jim leads Copeland Cook's immediate response team and participates in and supervises the investigation and defense of transportation matters throughout Mississippi. He has represented transportation carriers and their insurers in Federal and State courts and has tried approximately 100 jury trials, the majority of which were tried to verdict. He has tried jury trials in 13 of the 22 circuits in Mississippi and in both the Northern and Southern Federal Court districts and has successfully argued multiple cases before the Mississippi Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is well known in litigation circles for his negotiation and mediation skills, having mediated in excess of 200 cases. Jim is a seasoned trial attorney who has either tried or litigated cases in every county in the State of Mississippi. He is well known by attorneys throughout the State of Mississippi and has reliable contacts in most counties in the state.
