Stanford P. Fitts

Stan Fitts is a partner in the Salt Lake City law firm of Strong & Hanni where he practices in the areas of Construction and Design Liability Defense, Construction and Design Contract and Commercial claims, Professional Liability, Commercial Litigation and Employment Practices. He has successfully represented and defended construction and design professionals, insurance and surety companies, and businesses in a variety of complex multi-party, high-stakes litigation involving millions of dollars. He recently obtained summary judgment in favor of a general contractor dismissing an $18M contract claim and another summary judgment in favor of UDOT dismissing a $15M claim. This later dismissal was upheld by the Utah Supreme Court on appeal. Stan has served as the chairman of the Utah State Bar Construction Law Section (2005-2006) and is active in several construction, design professional, commercial and industry associations. He has been repeatedly recognized in Utah Business Magazine’s Utah Legal Elite listing for the best and the brightest among Utah’s attorneys (2004-present; Construction and Commercial Litigation).
