Christina Mott Hesse is a meticulous, results-driven litigator and strategist who specializes in medical and professional malpractice defense and business/commercial litigation. Prior to joining Duke Evett, Christina worked at firms in Boston and Boise, and was the chief legal officer for a Boise-based software-as-a-service startup company. Christina is particularly adept at working with expert witnesses across multiple specialties in complex medical malpractice cases, due to her scientific background, innate love of "learning the medicine," and natural curiosity. Christina has handled cases related to delayed cancer diagnoses, vertebral artery dissections, intracranial hemorrhages, retained surgical instruments, birth complications, and cardiac ablation complications. She has been involved in multiple jury trials with defense-favorable outcomes and is savvy at motion practice and mediations. Christina is also a graduate of the Idaho State Bar's Trial Skills Academy. She has advised businesses in corporate governance, commercial contracts, government procurement, and intellectual property matters. While at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, she was a member of the Suffolk University Law Review, serving as its associate managing editor, and was the Northeast Region Champion of the AIPLA Patent Law Moot Court competition. After graduating cum laude with a concentration in intellectual property, she clerked for the Superior Court of Massachusetts. Christina enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her husband and two young sons, watching Carolina Tarheel basketball, and aspiring to return to her days of marathon running (Marathon Maniac #2041…but for now, shorter races will have to do).
